Prior to writing a research paper in the APA format, it is important for you to understand the APA style and its basics. Well, APA format is the official writing style of the American Psychological Association. This writing format is being primarily used in writing research papers on psychology, education and social science.

An APA style research paper includes four main sections viz: Title page, Summary page, Main section containing the entire data and last but definitely not the least, the references section.

The title page should be no longer than twelve words, followed by the summary of the research paper also called “Abstract” which should be around two hundred words. This is followed by the main section which is the actual research document where you need to present all your findings. Lastly, there should be a references section which should include all your references in an alphabetical order.

The recommended typeface while writing an APA research paper is Times New Roman with a 12 point font size. In addition to this, one-inch margins and double spacing are required throughout the paper. Each paper needs to be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals. Short titles need to be used throughout the paper. Special plagiarism checking tools are being used for detecting any traces of plagiarism in APA style papers. I am sure the information furbished in this blog would have surely helped you learn a lot.
